A Japanese musician, a prominent koto and shamisen player
Started learning how to play koto and shamisen at an age of three. Since 1963, she has studied with Mr. Seikin Tomiyama, who ranks as Japan’s National Treasure. In 1966, she passed auditions for NHK (the Japan Broadcasting Corporation), and in 1986, she finished the 15th training course for qualified performers of Japanese traditional music.
Mrs. Seijo Tominari is one of the fine performers of Japanese traditional music. Every year she gives recitals, as well as participated in numerous music festivals in Australia, Austria, China, England, Germany, Russia and other countries. Mrs. Seijo Tominari is a President of the Senshokai society and a member of many other musical associations. Since 2005, she has been giving recitals at a festival "The Heart of Japan" of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory on a regular basis.
