Jennifer Hughes studied at Wells Cathedral School and at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where she gained a Bachelor of Music, and in July 2012, graduated with a Master of Performance in Piano Accompaniment. Whilst at the RCM, she studied with John Blakely and Roger Vignoles, generously supported by the Henry Wood Trust, Worshipful Company of Drapers, Worshipful Company of Founders and a Postgraduate Performance Award from the Musicians’ Benevolent Fund.
Jennifer recently won the Titanic Memoriam Prize for accompaniment in the RCM Lies Askonas Competition and received an award from the Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Trust. She has given numerous duo and chamber performances in venues throughout the UK, including at Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall, St James’s, Piccadilly, the Royal Academy of Arts and St Martin-in-the-Fields.
Jennifer has participated in several masterclasses including with Pierre Amoyal and Bruno Canino, Hâkan Hagegârd and Roger Vignoles. As an accompanist, she has worked for the BBC Singers, the Royal Academy of Music, the Purcell School, Wells Cathedral School, the ABRSM, and the Porziano Musica summer course. Forthcoming engagements include performances a Composer Portrait BBC Proms event at the RCM, Chester Festival and Porziano Musica. From September 2012, Jennifer will hold a Junior Fellowship in accompaniment at the RCM.
