“WE GATHER FRIENDS”

31 JULY — 28 AUGUST

THE RACHMANINOFF HALL OF THE MOSCOW CONSERVATORY

11 Bol’shaya Nikitskaya Street

The Sixth International Music Festival “We Gather Friends” has been held at the Rachmaninoff Hall of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory since 2007.

A concert of the pupils of the Moscow Conservatory’s International Summer School becomes the central event of every festival. For a while, people of different nationalities, ages and levels of training are becoming all together nurse-children of the world famous musical university, and to go on the Rachmaninoff Hall stage is one of the most magnificent and delightful moments for them. Professors of the Moscow Conservatory, who are worldly renowned musicians, have been patiently and enthusiastically preparing their pupils for such an important moment in their lives.

This special concert is framed by recitals of the Moscow Conservatory teachers and students, as well as those of outstanding soloists and groups from all over the world. The programs of the concerts are featured with maximum variety, from ancient oriental traditions to ultramodern compositions, which are often world premieres.

The festival program of 2012 includes 17 concerts and features 14 countries: Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Russia, Turkey, the UK and the USA. Famous choruses from Hannover and Brasília, internationally represented chamber ensembles and outstanding soloists, as well as performers of classical traditions from India and Japan, are among the guests of the Moscow Conservatory.
